Is Skin Care varies by color and type?
The human world consists of people of many ethnicities and cultures of each ethnic group has certain general characteristics of eyes, hair and skin color.
For example, a tendency of central and northern Europeans are more in the direction of light skin, hair and eye color, while southern Europeans tend to have dark hair, brown eyes and darker, olive skin tones. People in African and Australian Aboriginal decent are very dark or almost black skin, usually dark or black hair and brown eyes, while people of Asian decent have a yellowish color and may have brown or blue eyes, but mostly dark or black hair. Those of American Indian decent are more reddish tones to your skin and hair with brown eyes. Why do people have different skin colors?
The reason people have different skin colors is because there are three primary pigment that gives skin a wide variety of colors: melanin, carotene and hemoglobin. Melanin is mostly located in the epidermis of the skin, carotene is mostly in the dermis and hemoglobin in red blood cells in capillaries in the dermis.
Melanin, a natural occurring sun block that protects our skin cells from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays from the sun, is made from the amino acid tyrosine by special cells called melanocytes. Production of melanin is controlled by an enzyme called tyrosinase and stimulated by exposure to sunlight. People whose melanocytes do not produce much tyrosinase is likely to have Fair skin and will not tan easily. Some people inherit an inability to produce melanin, because their melanocytes can not make the enzyme tyrosinase, and these people have a condition called albinism.
How Do Skin Pigments Work?
Carotene, the same pigment found in egg yolks and yellow, orange and red vegetables and fruits, is a precursor to vitamin A synthesis. People of Asian and American-Indian descent, have more carotene in the stratum corneum and fatty parts of the dermis and subcutaneous tissue.
Epidermis of fair skinned people are translucent, so pink tones seen in Caucasians due to the presence of pigment hemoglobin, an iron-based oxygen-carrying molecule in red blood cells.
The relative proportions of these pigments give us the variation we see in skin color: more melanin will cause dark brown to black color, more carotene is responsible for the yellow to reddish-brown tones and hemoglobin gives red to pink tones.
We know that genetics has a major impact on our skin color, skin resilience and vulnerability to certain skin problems. In addition, people with a lot of body hair, often have a greater tendency to oily skin and blocked secretory glands resulting in acne and similar skin conditions. On the other hand, people with red hair and very light skin, has a minor problem with oily skin, but tend to burn easily in the sun, and thus face a greater risk of developing skin cancer.
Below are some general characteristics of various types of skin from different genetic backgrounds:
Skin Characteristics of people with Anglo-Saxon origin

Are these different ethnic skin types require a different approach to skin care?
The answer is' to some degree, yes, but on closer analysis, will we see that there is very little difference between black, brown, yellow, red and white skin types!
Inside each of these groups, there is a wide range of skin tones and overlap from group group. For example, white alabaster skin ranges from white to deep olive tones, black skin can vary from light brown to almost black ebony, Asian skin from pale yellow to deep tan, and American-Indian and Inuit skin, different tones of russet. These differences result from the concentration of melanin and the proportional contribution of the other pigments in the skin.
People of different races have the same number of melanocytes, but they are more active in dark-skinned people. Oil glands tend to be more numerous and large in black skin and follicles trend to be larger, so black skin has a tendency to oiliness, although it is less acne-prone. The darker the skin more melanin provides protection from ultraviolet rays from the sun and from premature aging and get younger looking longer.
It becomes clear very quickly that we are all very different and have different advantages and disadvantages that are specific for our skin type, depending on our genetic predisposition. But the overall structures and functions of skin are very similar, regardless of color, and are therefore fit in very similar ways. Knowing your skin is particularly strong and weak points, you can customize your skin care approach for your specific skin properties.
Classic Skin Type Categories
In order to understand better the care for your skin requires a "Skin Type Classification System 'has been conceived and developed over the years. The fundamental skin types are generally described as oily, dry, normal, sensitive, mature or a combination thereof. A brief description of each of the types of skin, and what you need to be attention in order to balance your skin is given below to give you methods for natural skincare that will help you make the right choices for just your skin.
Skin types: normal, dry, Oily, Combination, Dull or Older
Normal skin type
Normal skin is smooth, finely-textured, soft and supple. If you are lucky enough to possess this skin type, treasure it by using light cleansers and lotions and mild toner and freshener.
Dry skin type
Dry skin is usually thin and delicate and often scaly and prone to fine lines. It sometimes feels tighter than should. Extremely rich and greasy creams are not good for it, because they block the pores, often extending them, and then create an additional problem. Use light oils and creams, moisturizing and when select herbal tones that are mild and not too hard. Try to restore the pH or acid-base balance in the use of such things as cucumber juice or diluted vinegar so that sebaceous glands are encouraged to act.
Generally, softening and hydrating herbs (chamomile, Comfrey, cowslip, elderflower, fennel, candy, orange blossom Rose, violet), it is best to use in lotions and toners for dry skin. But there is no hard and fast rule. Astringent herbs can be good for dry skin, for example, if blended with emollient herbs or oils and gels, and many herbs are suitable for all skin types. If your skin is sensitive and then dry, see the section on sensitive skin below.
Oily skin type
Oily skin is shiny and coarser-textured, often with enlarged pores. It is prone to blackheads and blemishes. Do not use alcohol to reduce the oiliness of the skin, since it will only exacerbate the problem. Many herbal toners are suitable for reducing oiliness and tightening of the pores (see list of suitable herbs below). Egg-white gives a nice mild face-mask. Do not over-dry skin, moisturize with a light lotion. Designed to restore the skin's acid-base balance, so that the sebaceous glands cease to produce such large quantities of oil.
Astringent and cleansing herbs are generally the best to choose when treatment of an oily skin. These are: Potentilla, Sage, Comfrey, Cucumber, Dandelion, horsetail, tectorum, hyssop, lavender, lemon balm, lemon grass, lemon verbena, marigold, mint, parsley, sage, witch hazel and yarrow. But do not forget that many herbs are suitable for all skin types, and that many of the strength and anti-inflammatory herbs (chamomile, primrose, fennel, lettuce, elderflower, orange blossom, rose, violet) are suitable for oily skin.
Combination skin types
The person with this skin type will have to follow two skincare products routines, one for dry areas, and a second for oily. I think the oily areas balance easier in this type of skin than when the entire face is oily, do not worry.
Sensitive skin type
This skin is usually fine-textured and often prone to reddish veins and patches. Withstand to light oils and creams for cleansing and moisturizing and mild herbal toners and compresses to soothe the skin and reduces redness and veins. It is usually wise for people with sensitive skin to stay away from the stimulating herbs (lavender, lime flower, mint, nettle, sage, amber, summer savory, thyme).
Dull skin
Dull skin has lost the bloom of vitality and the soft glow of renewal, acid balance has been lost, and it looks dull and lifeless. This condition of the skin often occurs during or after severe illness. If it is fat or high-searched the skin use diluted cider vinegar or lemon juice or cucumber juice to balance it, or dry skin, use buttermilk or cucumber juice with a very nutritious diet.
Mature skin type
It is possible to tone, soften and restore mature skin to much of his earlier freshness. The skin has wonderful regenerative ability, since the right support. Use a light hand with makeup if you need it, because it tends to further dry and mature age skin. Of course, exercise good nutrition, adequate rest / relaxation and a positive outlook all the help with reconstruction.
Other factors which can affect your skin
The basis for a healthy, beautiful skin is diet. Are you getting enough polyunsaturated fats? It is essential for healthy skin and not cause facial oiliness. They are found in grains, nuts and cold pressed nut and vegetable oils.
Lots of vitamin C is essential for a beautiful skin, because this vitamin helps to build collagen and elastin, bonding and structural substances which give tone and resilience. Eat bean sprouts, green and red peppers, blackcurrants, oranges and lemons. Then there are guavas and rosehips, so your diet should not be restricted or dull. There is infinite variety to suit every palate.
Lack of Vitamin A can cause dry skin. Eat dandelion, parsley, watercress, carrots, pumpkins, celeriac.
If your skin is unbalanced, either flaky or too oily, or if your lips peel, then check your intake of B vitamins in foods. Havre years, bran, goat's milk, whole rice, sunflower, sprouted seeds and grains are some of the sources.
Caring for your skin on a daily basis
Looking after the body's largest and arguably one of the body most complex organs need to be one of your daily routine.
Firsly, you need to adopt a regular, structured skin care regimen exfoliating, cleansing, toning and moisturizing. There is no way around it.
Secondly, if you have combination skin, you may need to look at two different types of products to treat of their different skin types. For example, you can have both dry and sensitive skin and oily skin. It simply means you need to address the sensitive skin with a series of products and oily skin with a different set of products.
The next thing you must consider is what you put into your body. Yes, here it comes – diet. Rather than promoting a particular diet or tell you to eat high protein or low-carb diet or what ever, it is sufficient to say that if you keep your food as unprocessed as possible, as fresh as possible and as varied as possible – you will have a good diet and the food you eat is helping you to correct imbalances in your skin type.
The nutrients in the diet will be reflected in your skin – eat processed, high fat foods and you guessed it – your skin will reflect 'what you eat '. This includes adequate hydration: water is a basic ingredient required for all the chemical reactions that occur in body cells and the effective removal of waste products.
Do not forget exercise: swimming, walking, using stairs instead of the elevator in the office and using your feet, when you use the car is not absolutely necessary. It is not hard, it just takes a little willpower and knowledge to enhance blood circulation by doing the little things regularly will keep you healthier for longer. Even mild exercise has a beneficial effect on not only the blood circulation around the body, but also in the lymphatic system. Lymphatic helps remove waste and excess fluid from tissues and preventing the condition commonly known as cellulite or 'orange peel' skin.
So there it is … whoever you are, what color or skin type you possess … care for your skin using natural skin care products, and it will look after you!
